AP Content Services was tasked with providing photo and video coverage across 29 cities on overlapping and consecutive dates, to assist in our client’s goal of drawing attention, support and advocacy to locations in which voters were required to wait in longer-than-usual lines to cast their presidential vote.
While leveraging AP’s robust roster of photographers and video crews across the country, AP Content Services also sourced, vetted and onboarded over 60 new crew members, created a proprietary workflow with 24-hour production support, and coordinated workflow training along with shoot-day asset delivery for 120 crew members.
Rolling asset delivery on shoot days allowed our client to post real-time imagery across social media channels, resulting in nationwide attention via re-posts and shout-out-type of accolades. Simultaneously, this coverage strategy contributed to significant growth in our client’s social media following, additional fundraising to continue advocacy work, and overall awareness to areas experiencing hurdles in exercising their right to vote.
Note
The Content Services group is separate from the AP newsroom. While sponsorship arrangements are available surrounding AP's news coverage, these do not include any brand influence or oversight of the coverage. AP Content Services' custom brand storytelling projects, conversely, do not involve AP editorial staff and do invite brand input and review.
